If you haven’t seen The Shawshank Redemption, now is the time. The DVD is absolute budget (I picked it up for £3 in Tesco, Play.com are telling it for a similar price) and it’s a kick ass film - it has Morgan Freeman in, what more can you possibly want from a film? (I know, I know, Kevin Spacey as well but we can only dream ;)).
In terms of extras the disk isn’t completely stripped. It has a trailer, interviews with the cast and crew including Tim Robbins and Morgan. There is also a featurette which is like an hour long.

“You and he were, buddies weren’t you?” Darkplace has finally arrived on DVD and it’s about time too! The cult 80’s show set in a hospital im Romford has been one of the biggest cult hits of the decade and fans have been going made to get a DVD released of it.
The DVD features all six episodes from the series which is all good, in play all form and individually with optional commentary on every episode from Garth, Dean and Todd.
There is also plenty of extras - there is a small amount of unseen footage (literally only a few minutes) including a flashback to Rick’s chip shop adventure in Glasgow, a few photo galleries and other such little extras and two extra sections of interviews which make up the bulk of the extras and are well worth a watch.
All in all, it’s a good DVD and if you are a fan of the show it’s well worth shelling out for.

It’s time to stock up your DVD collection - Play.com have already announced their sales and no doubt other online and high street retailers will be following suite soon. Virgin have been doing £4.99 DVDs (and good titles that should actually be more than that normally, not the crap that is usually that price) for a while now.

The Channel Island of Jersey (who’s existence is still in debate) is introducing VAT which means bad things for Play.com (and indeed Amazon Jersey) who may be forced to raise their awesomely low prices to cover the additional costs.
