DVD Steak

Curb is back with a second boxset. It’s on two disks rather than three but there isn’t the HBO special thing so I don’t think there is a quality loss. It has all 10 episodes and less disk switching but the extras are pretty poor and there is no audio commentary which is a little disappointing.

The DVD box is a totally different colour to the first one but the writing is the same so it looks ago stacked next to the first series. There is no play all episodes which I always thought was pointless but now it’s not there I miss it. So it’s a pretty basic DVD but I love the series so much I couldn’t possibly not recommend it.

According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, Paramount are working on bringing Star Trek: The Animated Series to DVD sometime in 2006. Probably the second half of next year though so don’t expect it until like October.

John Spencer, the Emmy award winning actor who played Leo McGarry in The West Wing has died aged 58 in a hospital in Los Angeles. Full story on Det News.

What is going on with the 6th series of Dawson’s Creek DVD? I don’t really know. It’s all but disappeared off Amazon.com who don’t have a release date. What they do say is:

“Availability: THIS TITLE IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. If you would like to purchase this title, we recommend that you occasionally check this page to see if it has become available. ”

So they aren’t even taking pre-orders. Meanwhile, over hear in the UK things are looking a little less gloomy. Amazon.co.uk do have a release date for the series 6 boxset, currently January 30th. No image yet.

They also have “Dawson’s Creek - Seasons 1 To 6″ which looks pretty sweet, presumably all the boxsets put together. That’s priced at £112.49 which is a decent enough saving if you don’t have any of the boxsets or indeed, even if you have series one.

Put together the idea that I am launching a couple of new blogs and that I watch a lot of DVDs it only seemed sensible that I had some kind of DVD blog to blog about DVDs. Simple huh? DVD Steak is going to be bringing DVD reviews, news and a few random rumours.
