DVD Steak

The Simpsons: series 8 will arrive on DVD (at least in the US) on August 15th. It will feature commentary on every episode (awesome) and a buttload of other extras too.

I know it’s really early given that it’s still showing at the cinema (ok, stupidly early!) but I’m keeping my eyes pealed for any early sign of a Silent Hill DVD. Going to be adding that one to my collection asap.

You know, it seems all I do thse days is post about releases happening within the next week.

To that effect, the second series of One Tree Hill arrives on DVD this Monday. It’s taken it’s time to reach the UK, the US got it last year. The boxset contains all 23 episodes but little else it would seem.

The advertising campaign has begun and “there will be DVD extras” we’re reliably informed. It will include audio commentary and no less than six featurettes. Wow, that’s cool, but the DVD actually became available a week before the adverts claimed :D.

Deadwood - The Complete Second Season will arrive on May 23rd priced $99.99 (although as ever it will be much cheaper online).

Oh yeah! You can’t go wrong with a Home Improvement DVD, Tim Allen is a legend. The release date for the 3th series boxset is currently placed at June 6th.

King Kong will be released on DVD on March 28th and will be available in two versions - a regular version and a 2-disk special edition. They will both feature plenty on bonus material which is the important thing.

The fifth series of Smallville could well be with us by the end of the year - a video on the official website revealed that the DVD was planned for a “Fall 2006″ release.

Last week I posted about the release date of the third series of Scrubs. Well, the US release date maybe. Here in the UK, the series 3 boxset arrived 3 days ago :p.

Free Enterprise, the movie starring William Shatner arives on DVD on March 7th. The two disk DVD set will contain a specially extended theatrical cut with previously unseen footage, audio commentary from William Shatner, Eric McCormack and Rafer Weigel and a making of documentary.
