DVD Steak

On September 4th, Silent Hill arrives on DVD in the UK. That’s awesome. Because Silent Hill was a great movie and I would highly recommend it.

I know this is a DVD blog and all and I should probably be in favour of DVDs, but really - they suck! You even breathe near them and suddenly the stop working, freeze, skip and jump. I hope that Blue-Ray doesn’t have this problem. Not that CD’s were much better but they weren’t as DVDs. It’s like we’re moving backwards.

Underworld: Evolution is set for a 19 June release date. However the list of extras is not looking particularly extensive. Unless they just haven’t announced them yet. Let’s hope for that. Even though they have already released cover art.

IGN have artwork of the upcoming new releases of the original Star Wars trilogy. They look pretty snazzy although I think the full screen ones look slightly better than the widescreen ones and who buys full screen? :p. Ah well, see what you think.

Aeon Flux is due to be released on May 22nd and includes no less than two audio commentaries and loads of featurettes.

The Simpsons: series 8 will arrive on DVD (at least in the US) on August 15th. It will feature commentary on every episode (awesome) and a buttload of other extras too.

I know it’s really early given that it’s still showing at the cinema (ok, stupidly early!) but I’m keeping my eyes pealed for any early sign of a Silent Hill DVD. Going to be adding that one to my collection asap.
