Halloween is a classic movie so I couldn’t resist picking it up. The movie itself is legendry so I don’t think I need to say too much about that.
The same cannot be said for the DVD though. It contains no extras, indeed it contains nothing. When the menu comes up there is a play movie option. There isn’t even a scene selection.
I’m guessing there are probably different releases but if your looking for extras, this version isn’t the way to go. If you just want the movie though it’s an absolute bargain, you can pick it up in Virgin for £4. Enough said really.

While browsing around for DVDs I might like to blow the non-existent money I have, I came across what I consider a pretty cool find. The three Giner Snaps movie is available as a trilogy boxset. Albeit from limited places, Play.com has a listing for it but says it’s not available and Amazon doesn’t appear to have heard of it. Virgin Megastores does have it though and ChoicesUK.com also stock it for cheaper although I haven’t heard much about them.

I think I’ve really got the timing great here. You can read the recommendations today, get the DVDs tommorrow and watch them over the weekend. Am I great you guys or what? :p.
For the guys
Dumb and Dumberer. Ok, I’m going cheesey comedy here but it’s still good for a laugh and it’s the weekend so you don’t really want to be taxing you’re brain with political humour, save that for when you’re reading The Onion rather than working on Monday :D.
For the girls
A Cinerella Story. I say, it’s a recommendation for the girls, if you happen to be a guy who’s life revolves around Dawson’s Creek because you’re still in denial about you’re age then it could be for you too :p. It’s a modern retelling of the classic if you don’t know and when you add in Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray it becomes a really beautiful film.
Ice Age
It doesn’t perfectly transend the age boundary as Shrek does but it’s still a film that you can show the kids and still have a laugh at the little rat type creature as he battles to get the seemingly last unfrozen nut in existence.

You know, it seems all I do thse days is post about releases happening within the next week.
To that effect, the second series of One Tree Hill arrives on DVD this Monday. It’s taken it’s time to reach the UK, the US got it last year. The boxset contains all 23 episodes but little else it would seem.

The advertising campaign has begun and “there will be DVD extras” we’re reliably informed. It will include audio commentary and no less than six featurettes. Wow, that’s cool, but the DVD actually became available a week before the adverts claimed :D.
